Tradies golf day a success On Saturday under fair skies, a new event and new sponsors were added to the roster and for that thanks go to Hilltops Certifying Services and DA Busters for giving back to those in the building industry as well as regular golfers out to play.

A fun day with a 3 Person Ambrose format for all comers, including non-regular golfers, was also supported by the Club with a free roast roll and a refreshment, seeing over 50 on course and partaking in a great day out. Close to $1500 in prizes met the field on their return to the clubhouse with events in Scratch, Nett, NAGA, Secret 6 holes, Secret 12 holes and at least 8 random card draws all to be had.

The event winners fell as follows, remembering a 1 prize per person rule applied so that trophies went deep into the field.

Nett Winners (Event Winners) - Tom Poole, Randall O’Brien & Ashley Hall (-12 5/6)
Nett R/Up - Mark Parker, Jamie Parker, Dan McGrath (-11 5/6)
Scratch Winners - Sam Porter, Kym Butler, Gerard Kerin (-9)
NAGA (Not a Golfers .....) - Rodney Cooper, Marcus Ashton, Zak Leitner (TMTC)
Secret 12 Holes - Bernie Parker, Eric Kuhn, Herby Manwaring (-8 nett)
Secret 6 Holes - Jacqui Solah, David Solah, David James (-13 nett)

As said, card draws for clothing packs, fine wine and refreshment boxes were also had and well received.

Australian 2 Man Ambrose This Weekend
This weekend sees the 30th Annual Bruce Ware Australian 2 Man Ambrose Championships contested and proudly brought to us by the Harden-Murrumburrah Bendigo Community Bank as part of their strong and enduring partnership with the town and this flagship event.

Whilst the 30th birthday of this event is at hand and it is the longest running Ambrose event in the country, the Club is under State COVID rules and our own stringent COVID Safety Plan. This year will see a reduced field of 136 tee off each day and managed on course, off course and on premises.

It is truly hoped that the Club’s birthday party which is planned for next year can see the field size back up to 200 and both tees firing again in both sectional slots.

Bendigo Bank has shown very generous support of this event and will even have a $500 Hole in One Prize on offer at the 18th hole each day, as well as their event sponsorship which means this event can keep pumping.

Keep an eye out for a full golf course and some activity in town, and support the major sponsors with your truly local banking partners who go the extra mile to help you.

See you out there – Alby
