Filmer Flukes Saturday Stableford

Saturday was once again a beautiful day for Golf at Harden Country Club. Recent rains are starting to deliver that early Winter growth and the course is once again playing to its fullest test. Scoring was generally tough with the average of the modest field being 28 points on the day.

Surprisingly, a man who has been struggling to put his whole game together of late has played to his handicap and snuck home for a victory. Craig Filmer parred every par 3 on the course last week to knock out a solid 36 points and steal the day’s voucher. Craig’s score was the only one at or about par and it also saw him 2 points clear of the chasing pack.

Runner Up on the day in a 2 way countback for second was Peter Elliott who just snuck ahead of Kevin Hoppe with a better back 9 score. Both Gents had 34 stableford points. Peter and Kevin claimed refreshment vouchers on the day, as too did Ev Shea for best Lady in the field.

Club Foursomes Championships This Saturday

This Saturday kicks off our Major Events for the season with the conducting of the Club Foursomes. It is this year an Open Club event and entries are welcome from all Male or all Female pairings where the overall Club Championship in this format will be played for in Scratch and Nett disciplines.

You can register through Golf Genius or with the Club.

The event will be played over the traditional 27 hole format this year in one round. A gentle reminder that whichever partner tees off the first will see the other player tee off on the 19th when you start the second nine holes.

All the best and remember that it is best to agree to not say sorry, just give it your best shot every time. All the best members.

Last week we announced the Dempster Cup quarter finals. With only 2 weekends after the Foursomes to get your rounds in, the four matches scheduled need to line up their opponents to play in those weekends.

I look forward to seeing you on course.
