Australian 2 Man Ambrose – This Weekend

This weekend will see 200 Golfers hit out each day on the immaculately manicured links of the Harden Country Club, all competing for the coveted title of the Bruce Ware Australian 2 Man Ambrose Championships in proud partnership with Harden-Murrumburrah Bendigo Bank.

The 2021 running of this prestigious and longest running Ambrose Championships in Australia will be the 31st annual playing of the event. However due to CoVID, this year with the State easing some controls, will be the 30th Birthday bash held over from 2020. Bendigo Bank of Harden-Murrumburrah, the local Community Bank have been flagship sponsors of this event for at least 5 years now and it is a proud partnership, much appreciated by the locals, the Club and also the players.

Bendigo Bank have put $6,000 into primary sponsorship this year in the spirit of our Birthday Bash for 30 years, AND they have put a brand new car on the 18th hole for the first person across the weekend to score a Hole in One. The field are absolutely ecstatic about all of this support and I know accommodation venues are booked solid and a whale of a time is planned for this annual Harden Country Club show piece event.

If you are not doing much and want to see some quality golf, or even just take a peekaboo at those vying for the car, come along and see what’s happening at the Harden Country Club this weekend. The Club also has a number of support events on in the way of In-house activities so either visit the Club’s website at www.hardencountryclub.com.au or search Harden Country Club on facebook.

As well, for all your finance needs, please also check out our event partner’s (Bendigo Bank Harden-Murrumburrah) website for the latest and greatest deals at www.bendigobank.com.au and follow the links through to the Harden-Murrumburrah Branch.

Last Saturday

Cometh the Hour, Cometh the Man they say. Our special unit, Ron Page has decided he has had enough of mediocrity this year and has come out of the box last Saturday like a frog in a sock.

Blitzing away no doubt, talking, treading on lines, checking out who is on the next hole, yet still scoring like a burning special, Ron has managed a round 4 better than his burgeoning handicap of late, and chalked up 40 stableford points. Congratulations to Ron and the rest of this weekends prime event thank you for shedding some handicap and applying some realism before the big day.

Balls went back to 33 points and were awarded to Tam Kennedy continuing his recent hot patch of form (37 points), John Brownhill (36 points), Bernie Parker – waiting to pounce soon like a Tiger, like a Tiger (35 points) and the ever reliable David Solah on 33 points.

Special mention to our Bendigo Bank Board Member for joining the boys in a bit of fun and putting up with them, whilst it was noted that Tim Ganderton of Moruya Club was in the field forward scouting a week out from the major event. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

See you on course this weekend. Alby
