McGrath Wins Low Scoring Stableford
In fine but definitely wintry conditions this week, the course was fighting back playing at its full length and toughness that we see at this time of the year. A modest field teed it up for the Harden Country Club sponsored Individual Stableford.

In a week where nobody shot to their handicap, the Club’s own town enforcer made his presence felt on the links. Dan McGrath recorded the best score at 34 points, a mere 2 shots behind his deductor. Notwithstanding this, Dan finished 2 shots clear of his nearest rivals, Peter Elliott and Tam Kennedy, who recorded 32 points. Craig Henman brought up the rear of the place-getters with 31 points. Dan picked up a $30 credit on his Club Card for the victory, whilst Peter, Tam and Craig all scored a ball, which may be collected from the bar. Unfortunately, the Medal winner from last week has gone from the penthouse to the outhouse this week. Ronnie Page has put the handbrake on this week, going from last week’s win to this week’s spoon. Some days are diamonds hey big boy…

This Week
With the Championships just around the corner, it’s time to have some fun. The GM and his good lady have sponsored this week and also called the event.

This week, the course will be played backwards. Yep, backwards! The players will tee off from alongside the 18th green to get started, playing to the 17th green. From there, the players will tee off to the 16th green and so it will go on. Completing the course playing from alongside the first green through to the 18th green to finish will prove very interesting indeed!

I look forward to hearing some war stories on this one! See you there, Alby
