Ash Hall & Simon Glover – Ambrose Specialists
Last Saturday saw a lovely day out at golf with sunny skies but a 1 – 2 club southwesterly playing with our competitors minds on a good number of the tougher holes on course. With the greens fast and some interesting pin positions, the stage was set for Harden Country Club’s favourite style of event – a 2 Person Ambrose.

A strong field came out to play with good numbers and a mix-up in normal pairings all looking to avail themselves of some Harden Country Club – Beer futures credit on their club card as their prize. Unlikely pairing yet both proved with other partners, Ashley Hall & Simon Glover hit out and they didn't hit hard. Recording a 9 under par Nett for a 62, the boys streeted the field by a whopping 5 shots to be clear winners on the day. Awesome effort and great to see Simon back to Saturday golf.

The ball on the day’s event went back to par nett on a countback proving you had to play better than your handicap as a team to be in the money. Balls went to John Brownhill and Kevin Hoppe (67 nett), Tom Poole and Craig Henman (68 nett), Bernie Parker and Dan McGrath (69 nett) and to Michael Baldry & Rick Preston (71 nett). The unlucky losers also on 71 nett and not claiming anything but fresh air for the day were Tam Kennedy and Craig Filmer.

Men’s 4BBB Championships Start on Saturday
Replacing the former Garangula 4BBB MatchPlay Knockout some 5 years ago (could be more), our Men now play a 2 round event for the 4BBB Championship. Round 1 starts this Saturday followed by Round 2 the following weekend. Do not forget to register after hooking your partner, by using the Golf Genius App or by buzzing one of the helpful staff at the Club on 6386 2483.

For our lady members and unaligned players, the event will be held in conjunction with an Individual Stableford on both dates, so do not hesitate to get along to Golf, there is something for everyone.
