The countdown is now on for the Harden Kite Festival, with just over a week to wait. With no colourful giants soaring above Harden in the past two years, the Harden Kite Festival Committee is excited to announce that it is full steam ahead for the annual event.
The events held in 2018 and 2019 were the largest Harden Kite Festivals on record, with 4000 to 8000 attending.
A colourful extravaganza with fun for the whole family, Harden Kite Festival 2022 promises to be a real crowd pleaser.
Don’t be surprised to see some professional kite flyers from around the country shoulder-to-shoulder with the amateur kid down the block.
The skies will come alive with vibrant colour as kites of all sizes and designs are launched - just keep one eye on the ground so you don’t crash into fellow kite flyers. There is plenty of open space for large kites as well.
The family-friendly day is a ticketed event this year with endless activities for kids and adults alike to enjoy.
People can participate in circus classes, African drumming, kite decorating workshops, kite flying and kite competitions.
An extensive array of interesting market stalls will be onsite, so you can even grab something special for Christmas.
All-day passes are available with exciting rides called Round Up and Big Ball Wipeout.
You can grab some tasty food and great coffee or bring your own picnic.
The Harden Kite Festival has grown into one of the Hilltops region’s three major festivals and the committee prides itself on its volunteers (over 250) and community support.
