The Volunteers Committee is hosting a free morning tea for prospective volunteers to learn about the role.

The Harden Murrumburrah Visitor Information Centre is on the lookout for local volunteers to join the team showcasing the region to over 20,00 visitors a year.

The Volunteers Committee is hosting a free morning tea at 10.30am next Friday, the 30th of May, at The Barnes Store to help prospective volunteers learn more about the role.

“Our volunteers are often the first people visitors meet when they arrive,” says Keith Ward, a proud local and passionate member of the Volunteers Committee.

“We help them discover the charm of our twin towns and the surrounding villages, whether it’s recommending a great spot for lunch, pointing out a scenic drive, or just sharing a story or two about the history of the area. It’s a really rewarding way to be involved in the community.” i

“Volunteering at the VIC is flexible, social and supported by a great team. No previous experience is needed, just a positive attitude and a warm smile.”

“Volunteers receive in-house training and ongoing support and there’s a variety of shifts available throughout the week to suit different schedules.”

The morning tea is an opportunity to meet with current volunteers, staff from the Hilltops Region’s Tourism team and the Harden Murrumburrah Regional Development Corporation (HRDC) and hear firsthand what it’s like to be part of the Harden-Murrumburrah VIC team.
