Our small community boasts some of his spectacular silo art, and now the country’s most prolific silo artist is visiting Murrumburrah.
Khosnaran Khurelbaatar, more commonly known by his artist name Heesco, will open the inaugural Silo Art Fest on Sunday, October 9.
Heesco is a Mongolian Australian muralist and fine artist. Heesco moved to Australia in 1999, and to Melbourne in 2010 where he established himself as a leading contemporary artist.
He gained national and international recognition after he completed a series of 22 street murals in the township of Yarran.
Heesco has also produced some stunning work at the Mill Park Murrumburrah.
The Mongolian Australian muralist and fine artist will also present a workshop on graffiti art, street art and silo ‘high rise’ art, explaining the techniques involved and conducting a Q & A session.
If street art isn’t your genre, though, there is plenty more on offer at the Silo Art Fest, including Ronnie from First Nation Weaving with a presentation encouraging the learning and understanding of techniques involved in weaving.
Professional sculptors will assist, guide and encourage the creative abilities sometimes known or hidden within a person.
Sculpture is a unique form of visual art that is three-dimensional, inhabits the space shared by the sculptor and the viewer, and is tactile - you can touch it and feel it.
Of course, there is Pattina Alchemy, Art painting, Paint Pour and hourly art awards - an opportunity for everyone.
