Hilltops Celebrates Harmony Day

IMAGE: Harmony Day 2025 was a huge success.

Young and District Multicultural Association (YADMA) held a Harmony Day celebration as part of the Hilltops Off The Beaten Track Arts and Cultural Trail (HOBTRACK).The theme of the celebration was ‘our diversity is our strength’ and it was held at the LFE Community Hall.

YADAMA representative Josie Johnson said, “The festivities began with a heartfelt welcome from Mr. Amir Nowrosi, the newly-appointed President of YADMA, followed by a beautiful rendition of the Australian National Anthem by Julie Anderson.”

“The audience was further engaged with graceful Tai Chi demonstrations, setting the tone for an afternoon of cultural celebration.”

“Serving as charismatic emcees, Minda Mendoza and David Gibson guided the program smoothly.”

“Guests savored a delightful lunch while enjoying captivating performances by guitarist Hovert Gonzales, and interactive performances by Minh Ha Patmore.”

“A standout moment was the spirited ethnic Igorot dance performed by the Filipino ladies, showcasing cultural pride and artistry.”

“The event concluded on a high note with a moving rendition of We Are Australians, led by Julie Anderson and Peter O’Connor, bringing everyone together in song.”

“The vibrant day attracted guests from Wagga, Temora, Grenfell, Boorowa, and Cootamundra, reinforcing the spirit of connection across communities,” said Josie.
