Lambing Flats Chinese Festival

Despite the cold, wet weather, Hilltops residents gathered in Young to celebrate the 2019 Lambing Flats Chinese Festival.

The night began with both the Food and Cultural Markets and Artisan and Boutique Markets and the Gold Commissioners Tent.

The feature of this year’s guest nation was the Glamarosas, shaking and shimmying despite the cold.

The Prosperous Mountain Lion Dance wowed the audience, lighting up after dark to create an added element to their performance.

The Lantern Parade was very well attended with students from across the region taking part with lanterns they had made.

The Festival was a truly immersive experience, with the Food Markets providing a taste of Chinese culture, traditional Chinese music providing the sound and Prosperous Mountain Lion Dance providing the visual element.
