The Hilltops Freight and Transport Study has been completed and Hilltops Council is seeking feedback from the public.

The Study will be on public exhibition for a period of 42 days, which began on the 6th of June and will end on the 18th of July, 2019.

The focus of the Study is the goal of a freight and transport network able to support growth in the Hilltops region. The Study identified gaps in the connections in this network where Council may focus its energy in the future. The Study also identified the different roles and responsibilities of Council within this network, outlining the parts Council owns and manages and the areas Council needs to lobby state and federal governments for.

The Study will be used in conjunction with the Hilltops Community Strategic Plan and other strategic documents and data for both the upcoming Hilltops Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) and Local Environmental Plan (LEP).

Comments and feedback on the Study will be considered by Council in the preparation of the Hilltops LSPS and LEP.

The Study is now available to view and download from Council’s website at https://hilltops.nsw.gov.au/Council/About-the-council/Draft-Polices-Procedures-on-Display.aspx

Hard copies are also available for viewing at Hilltops Council Offices and Libraries. Submissions are to be received in writing or via email to submissions@hilltops.nsw.gov.au with ‘Hilltops Freight and Transport Study’ in the subject line. Submissions must be received by 18 July 2019.
