The Hilltops Hornets - Champions of the Summer Twilight Competition.

Round 10 of the Summer Twilight Competition wrapped up in style this week, marking the end of the much-enjoyed push competition.

The final round brought together players, families, and supporters for a funfilled afternoon of hockey action and community spirit.

The first game of the day was a tightly contested battle between the Kookaburras and Dingoes. Both teams came out strong, defending fiercely and creating plenty of chances.

In the end, it was the Kookaburras who edged ahead to take a 3–1 victory. Matilda Woodward and Edwin Kwan were on the scoreboard for the Kookaburras, while Edwina Planten netted a solid goal for the Dingoes.

The next match saw the Dingoes back in action, this time facing off against the Wallabies. The Wallabies came out firing and maintained their momentum throughout the game, keeping the Dingoes under pressure and largely on the defensive.

The Wallabies took a convincing 3–0 win, with goals scored by Izack Meharg, Elijah Meharg, and Matilda Woodward, who secured her second goal of the afternoon.

Next, the Kookaburras and Wombats came head-to-head in a fast-paced match. The Kookaburras put up a fight, but were unable to match the might of the Wombats, who controlled the game and took a solid 2–0 win.

Hayley Saines and Cooper Saines were the goal scorers for the Wombats, each making a strong impact on the field.

The Hilltops Hornets and Wallabies were the next two teams to battle it out.

This game proved to be one of the most evenly matched of the day, with both teams showing great skill and determination.

Neither side was able to gain the upper hand, and the match ended in a thrilling 2–2 draw. Elijah Meharg continued his strong form, scoring twice for the Wallabies, while Zac Williams and Sarah Wills found the net for the Hilltops Hornets.

The final game of the day saw the Hilltops Hornets take on the Wombats under the evening lights. The sun had set, the lights were on, and the stage was set for a dramatic finish. Despite a determined effort from the Wombats, the Hilltops Hornets stepped up their game, delivering a commanding performance to secure a 4–2 victory — and with it, the top spot on the ladder.

Goals for the Hornets came from Zac Williams, Michael Killick, Tom Wills, and Sarah Wills, while Hayley Saines and Cooper Saines once again found the back of the net for the Wombats.

With each team playing two short games, the afternoon was filled with excitement, fierce competition, and great sportsmanship.

Off the field, a free sausage sizzle brought everyone together, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for players and spectators alike.

Despite strong performances across the board, it was the Hilltops Hornets who emerged victorious, finishing on top of the ladder and officially crowned Champions of the Summer Twilight Competition.

Their consistent play and teamwork throughout the season proved unbeatable, capping off a fantastic campaign in style.

The event was a celebration not only of competition but of community, friendship, and the love of the game — a perfect end to another successful Twilight season.
