Hilltops To Commemorate Anzac Day

The Hilltops region will observe Anzac Day on Thursday with a number of commemorative services.

BOOROWA
The Dawn Service will be held at 6:00am. The Anzac Day March will begin at 10.15am, from Marsden Street to the War Memorial. Participants are asked to assemble from 10:00am at the Boorowa Post Office. The Boorowa Ex-Services Club RSL Luncheon will commence from 12.30pm. RSVP to Phil Armitage on 0416 292 767. Two-up will be held at the Ex-Services Club from 2:00pm – 4:00pm.

BENDICK MURRELL
Bendick Murrell Hall will be holding memorial services from 9:00am.

BRIBBAREE
The Bribbaree Anzac Day March will begin at 4pm, followed by the Memorial Service. Participants in the March are asked to assemble adjacent to the Bribbaree Bowling Club in Weedallion Street. The March will head west for wreath laying at the Cenotaph in Anzac Park before arriving at the Bribbaree Memorial Hall for the Memorial Service.

GALONG
The Galong Anzac Day Dawn Service will be held at 5.30am. Breakfast will follow.

HARDEN-MURRUMBURRAH
The Harden-Murrumburrah Anzac Day Dawn Service will begin at Newson Park at 6.00am. Harden’s Anzac Day March will commence at 10:45am, with participants being asked to meet at the Harden Mechanics Institute at 10:15am. The March will head to Newson Park for a Memorial Service which will conclude around 12pm. In Murrumburrah, the Light Horse Memorial will host a service at 12pm.

JUGIONG
The Jugiong Anzac Day March will commence at the Police Station at 3.30pm and will conclude on Riverside Drive at the Memorial Park. A Memorial Service will be conducted following the March.

MONTEAGLE
Monteagle Hall will host an Anzac Day Memorial Service at 2:00pm.

MURRINGO
The Murringo Anzac Day Service will be held at 8.30am in the Murringo Memorial Hall. Participants are asked to assemble adjacent to Murringo Public School on Murringo Gap Road, where the March will head South to the Murringo Memorial Hall.

RUGBY
Rugby will hold an Anzac Day Dawn Service at 6:30am.

WIRRIMAH-KOORAWATHA
A Dawn Service will be held at the Memorial Gates in Koorawatha by the Wirrimah-Koorawatha RSL Sub-branch from 6am. Following the service, a breakfast with gold coin donation will be held in the Hall. All are welcome to attend. Wirrimah will hold a service at 8.15am in the Wirrimah Memorial Hall. The Bendick Murrell Memorial Hall will hold a service with morning tea provided at 9am. A service will be held at the Crowther Memorial at 10.15am. The main Anzac Day Service will be held at 10.45am at Koorawatha. All descendants wearing medals are welcome to join in, with participants being asked to assemble 10 minutes prior to the March commencing.

WOMBAT
A service with 6 riders from the Harden Light Horse group providing a formation at the ceremony site (Corner Rose & Young Street) will commence from dawn. Presentations of prayers and hymns, the laying of wreaths and the sounding of the Bugle will follow. Breakfast at the Wombat Hotel will be held at the completion.

YOUNG
An Anzac Day Dawn Service will be held by the Young RSL at 6.00am. Participants are asked to assemble adjacent to the Young Town Hall Memorial Tower in Boorowa Street at 5:45am. Following the service, a complimentary breakfast will be served. An Anzac Day March will be held at 10.45am with participants being asked to assemble at 10:30am adjacent to the Young Town Hall Memorial Tower in Boorowa Street. The March will head East along Boorowa Street, then north along Lynch Street and west along Lovell Street to Anderson Park Memorial. A Memorial Service will commence at 11:00am.
