Laurelle Nosworthy is the Community Engagement Officer at Boorowa Central School. In addition to her day job, the musically gifted Laurelle has assembled a choir, which meets during school terms.

All voices are welcome and members had fun last semester learning songs such as “Bella Mama” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion King.

The song that encapsulates the spirit of the choir though is the lively “Jambo Rafiki”, which means “Hello friend” in Swahili.

Laurelle’s Choir starts up again on Monday 17th October at 7pm-8:30pm at St John’s Anglican Church Hall.

Everyone is welcome, as the line in Jambo Rafiki says, “Sing with me my sister, my brother, jumbo rafiki. Joyfully we greet one another, jambo today!”
