That’s the title of the guest presenter’s talk for the Men’s Breakfast being hosted by the Harden/Galong Uniting Church on Saturday, 13th March.

Cameron (better known as Cam) Hooke and his wife Krista are fairly recent arrivals in Murrumburrah-Harden, along with their Staghound Cross Valkyrie. Cam was born in Melbourne and raised on a sheep property in Western Victoria.

After school, Cam headed to the Royal Military College at Duntroon, graduating into the Royal Australian Infantry Corps. Then followed a military career spanning some 30 years including command, instructional and staff appointments and periods of individual training.

Upon retirement from the Army, Cam stepped straight into the Australian Public Service in the Department of Defence where he filled various posts over nearly 20 years. This period also included three years in Parliament as the Defence Advisor to the Minister Assisting the Minister for Defence.

Life in Murrumburrah has meant retirement, walking the dog, being an ardent Collingwood supporter and tending the veggie patch. Cam and Krista have three grown-up children.

Cam is sure to entertain breakfast-goers with tales of the army, life in defence and more. He will also speak on the role of army padres and will be happy to answer lots of questions!

The Men’s Breakfast commences at 8 am with a $15 entry for a fully-cooked sit-down breakfast in the Uniting Church Hall, Binalong Street, Murrumburrah. Please RSVP to Neville Alcorn on 6386 2157 or Stewart Bruce 0423 090 912.
