Lions Club of Young Cuppa In A Mug Fundraiser
The Lions Club of Young warmly invites you to join them for a special afternoon tea to raise funds and awareness for the Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation. Tony Kennedy, a trustee of the Foundation, will be giving a presentation so come along for a cuppa, some sweet treats and great company, all in support of a vital cause. Saturday the 6th of September at 2pm at St John’s Church Hall. $20 per person. RSVP to Lyn Freudenstein by the 29th of August on 0422 604 132.

Young Cherry Blossom Garden Club Meeting
The August meeting is to be held at the Federation Motel in the Conference Room at 2pm on the 14th of August. The Club also has a bus trip to Canberra coming up on October the 16th. Members and any new members who would like to join would be most welcome.

Young Mosque Free Meal Initiative in Boorowa
Young Mosque are inviting people in need to grab a free meal from them this Thursday, 14th of August, outside Birds, Bees & Me Boorowa from 4.45pm until all meals are given out. All meals are freshly and properly prepared, and completely free. Made from the amazing chefs at Coffee Mate Cafe. Times are tough, and Young Mosque know many are doing it hard right now. Whether you’re struggling or just passing by — they invite you to grab a warm, delicious meal. No strings attached, no questions asked. Just kindness.

When City Meets Country Choir Event
Canberra Community Voices teams up with Hilltops Choir for a combined choral event on Saturday the 23rd of August at the Ross Memorial Church in Murrumburrah at 2pm. Separate and combined choir items. Entry by donation at the door. Afternoon tea following the event.

Bee Hotel Workshop at Hilltops Community Hub
Come build your own Bee Hotel. Fun, easy and helpful to the environment. Bee Hotels provide shelter to native bees and other insects. Carers Info Morning Tea

Animalia Exhibition at Burrangong Gallery
From the earliest times, artists have depicted animals to express beliefs, theories and social interactions. Some artists excel at capturing the essence of animals through their art. The Young Society of Artists members will present works featuring their very own animal paintings, from realistic portraits of cats and dogs to abstract pieces highlighting animal traits in a playful manner. The official opening and morning tea will take place this Saturday, the 9th of August at 11am. The exhibition will run from Saturday the 9th of August to Wednesday the 22nd of September.

New Weekly Relaxation Class in Boorowa
Put your daily tasks and challenges on hold and take an hour for yourself. To promote balance and wellbeing, this free class will focus on the breath, seeking to calm the nervous system, shifting the mind from thinking to sensing and ultimately stillness. Each week the session will be tailored to those who attend. Chairs will be provided, but if you’d like to sit or lay on the floor, please bring a mat, pillow or blanket. Hilltops Bird Observers August Field Trip This Sunday
Budgery Travelling Stock Reserve on Bribbaree Road, Thuddungra is the site for the Hilltops Bird Observers August 2025 Field Trip. Come and join the fun. Meet at 9am on Sunday the 17th of August. Easy main road access and ample off-road parking. The Stock Reserve can be accessed off the Henry Lawson Way. Please bring binoculars (loan pairs available), a hat, water, sunscreen, morning tea, a chair and wear sturdy shoes. The closest facilities are located 14km west at Bribbaree. Starting at Bribbaree Showground, there will be a 200km ride through the countryside. Returning to the Showground, there will be live entertainment, bar facilities, food, raffles, auctions, the draw for the major prize and much more. $20 per vehicle. Bus available for $30 per person. Saturday the 13th of September starting at 10am.
