The Lions Club of Young will be sponsoring Brianah Griffin as a candidate in the 2019 Cherry Festival Queen Contest.

Brianah said, “My commitment to helping my local community is why I decided to run for Cherry Queen in 2019 and I’m so pleased the Lions Club of Young has decided to be my sponsor. I appreciate all the work that Lions does for the community.”

Speaking at the June monthly dinner for the Lions Club, Brianah outlined what she will be looking to achieve in the lead up to the judging in December.

Currently, Brianah is doing a traineeship with law firm Gordon Garling Moffitt in Young, which will lead to a Certificate 3 in Business Administration and Law.

Brianah is President of the annual Cherry Chase: Chase the Colour fun run event, which in the past has been in partnership with PCYC. While the PCYC is no longer involved, Brianah is determined to run the event as part of her fundraising.

“I am wishing to run this event as part of my Cherry Queen fundraising and am needing the support of both the Lions Club of Young and the Hilltops community in order to make this event another great success. The Cherry Chase Committee is very happy that profits made from the Cherry Chase event will be split between the Lions Club of Young and the Cherry Festival Committee,” said Brianah.

Brianah would like to thank the Lions Club of Young for helping to make the community a better place to live, work and grow.
