The team at Young Meals on Wheels (MOW) is always looking to go the extra mile for their participants.

Team Support Manager, Janelle Eastlake said they enjoyed a delicious Christmas in July event last month.

“We had a full house of 50 attend our Christmas in July Meet & Eat, combined with staff, clients and volunteers,” Ms Eastlake said.

“A lovely donated hamper was provided and a staff member had their children colour in and laminate Christmas placemats for guests.”

Ms Eastlake said they also had a small bus head over to Forbes to visit McFeeters Motor Museum last week and enjoy the scenery on a lovely and clear but cold day out.

She said that they aimed for two outings every month, and they take requests from participants.

“We took them to the Coolamon Cheese Factory,” Ms Eastlake said. “We had to take two buses for that one.”

Participants had requested the Coolamon Cheese Factory a while back but had to wait for renovations.

Wombat Cottage is another favourite location, with participants enjoying Devonshire tea and a simple meal together on two separate occasions.
