Mental Health Storytelling Event For Boorowa

The event will be held on Sunday the 15th of June at the Boorowa Central School Hall.
This Is My Brave Australia (TIMBA) is hosting a mental health storytelling event in June.
Auditions were held earlier in the year with locals encouraged to share their stories through storytelling, music, poetry and song.
Brave storytellers from the Boorowa region will share their personal journeys with mental health challenges and recovery through spoken word, poetry, music and more.
Tim Daly, founder and EO of TIMBA said, “We’re honoured to bring the voices of Boorowa and surrounds to the stage.”
“These storytellers are everyday people with extraordinary courage.”
“Their willingness to speak openly about mental health helps build a culture where it’s okay to ask for help - and to offer it.”
The event will take place on Sunday the 15th of June at the Boorowa Central School Hall.
It will begin at 2pm.
Tickets are available online at timba.org.
au or at the door on the day.
General admission tickets are $20 and concession tickets are $5.
The event will shine a light on real stories of recovery and resilience from local community members who are breaking the stigma surrounding mental health through the power of lived experience.
“Whether you’ve been personally affected by mental health challenges, support a loved one, or simply want to be part of a community that values empathy and openess, this event is for you.”
This Is My Brave Australia is part of a global movement using storytelling as a catalyst for connection, understanding and change.
By creating a safe and supportive space for people to share their stories, the event aims to challenge stereotypes, reduce shame and build a more compassionate and informed community.
