Guest Speaker for Lambing Flat Young FAW October Meeting

Lambing Flat Young FAW will have a guest speaker at its October the 13th meeting. The topics covered will be ghost writing, self-publishing and illustration. It promises to be an informative evening. Koorawatha Town Rural Fire Brigade Recruiting

The Koorawatha Town Rural Fire Brigade is looking to recruit new members so the brigade can continue to support their local community. If you are interested in helping out your local community, visit https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/volunteer/join-the-nsw-rfs or contact the Harden Fire Control Centre on 02 6386 1700. Training and Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) is able to be provided to all new members when they join their local brigade.

Boorowa LHAC CPR and AED Training Session

A free educational session proudly hosted by Boorowa LHAC. Ryan Deale, Director of Clinical Services, Dip Emergency Health Care, Get First Aid Pty Ltd, will provide a training session in CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation) and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Wednesday the 15th of October from 5.45pm to 7.00pm at the Boorowa Ex-Services Club. Bookings are essential and strictly limited to 15 people. Harden Hospital Auxiliary Community Morning Tea

Thursday the 2nd of October at 10.30am at 98 Albury Street, Harden. Guest speaker is Gail Flannery, celebrant and friend of Galong Cemetery. $10 per person, all welcome. Following morning tea, members will gather for the monthly meeting.

BreastScreen NSW Van is coming to Young

From Monday the 15th of September to Friday the 31st of October 2025 at Young and Hilltops Region Information Centre on Lovell Street, Young. To book a free mammogram visit www.book.breastscreen.nsw.gov.au or call 13 20 50. An appointment with BreastScreen NSW is free, takes less than 20 minutes and no doctor’s referral is needed. The mobile clinic visiting Boorowa is equipped with a lift system to support women with health conditions or disability to have their mammogram. Women with additional needs are encouraged to let us know when booking their appointment.

Boorowa Country Education Foundation Grant Applications Open

Applications for CEF grants are now open and can be lodged at www.cef.org.au Young people between the ages of 16 and 25 who are going to embark on tertiary education and training can apply. Everyday English Conversational Group
