Murrumburrah-Harden Rotary Club welcomed their exchange student, Ella Scharling to the region last week.

Ella hails from Rudkobing on the island of Langeland in Denmark and will be spending the year in Harden.

Rotarian Rita O’Connor was excited to welcome Ella to Harden.

“She has joined the year 10 class at Murrumburrah High School.”

“Two things she is really enjoying - having a uniform to wear and moving classrooms for different subjects.”

“These are big changes to what she is used to in Denmark.”

“We are very excited to be hosting another Danish student and hope she has a really special year with our club and in Harden,” said Rita.

Ella’s Rotary counsellor is Karen Tanswell who will catch up with her weekly.

Her first host family is President Krista and her husband Cam Hooke.

Ella gave a short talk at the Rotary Club’s latest meeting, discussing how she was settling in.
