St John’s Anglican Church has a new minister. Rev. Rick Lewis and his wife, Gwenda, will travel from Laggan to Boorowa each weekend to take services in the parish, provide pastoral care to those in need and to meet with the community.

Rev. Lewis obtained his Bachelor of Theology from St Mark’s in Canberra in 2013 as well as a Diploma in Anglican Orders.

With a background in primary teaching, Rev. Lewis has been a councillor on Campbelltown City Council and a rugby league referee. He also still runs a beef cattle herd.

The Anglican Parish of Boorowa has been without the services of a minister for some time, with lay ministers taking services and monthly visits from Rev. Emma Street and Rev. Sandie Kain, so the congregation was happy to learn that they would have a regular minister.

Rev. Lewis will provide weekly communion services to St Johns and monthly services to Murringo and Tangmangaroo.
