The Old Brick Pub will host an Open Garden and Market Day for local artisans and makers on the grass and surrounding garden on Cherry Festival Sunday, December 4.

Owner of Green Glass Studio and caretaker of the Old Brick Pub, Sue Hardy said they were proudly supporting the Young Crisis Accommodation Centre (YCAC).

“Young Crisis Accommodation Centre helps those experiencing homelessness for not just Young, but also Boorowa, Cootamundra, Harden and Temora,” Ms Hardy said.

“I am one of the lucky ones that have never experienced such trauma and can only imagine how hard mentally and physically this would be. I love the community that has supported me growing up and continues to support me through my business. It’s a wonderful feeling. Connecting with YCAC and donating we can support, bring awareness and create change.”

The event will run from 10 am to 3 pm, with Boys to the Bush holding a barbecue and the local CWA ladies providing delicious cakes and slices. Local talent, Jacob Maloney will play and sing and there will be 30 local stall holders.

“Our stall holders are all locals,” Ms Hardy said. “I believe in supporting them, providing a patch of grass to gather and building a strong community. Each one is donating their stall fee to YCAC, including me. Together, locals are supporting locals and the money earned is staying in our town.”
