Ross Memorial Church will play host to organist Anthony Hahn next weekend.
Anthony will perform a one hour recital on the historic Dodd pipe organ on Sunday the 26th of October at 2pm.
Entry will be by donation at the door with the proceeds going to the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS).
Organiser Stewart Bruce said, “Anthony has visited the Ross Memorial Church on several occasions and is keen to demonstrate the organ with a selection of well-known and classic works from the organ repertoire.”
“The first time Anthony witnessed a pipe organ being played was in 1997 at Sale at a memorial service for the late Princess Diana. He was entranced.”
“Two years later he was Organ Scholar at the Anglican Cathedral there and then Cathedral Organist seven years later.”
“Anthony now travels to all states of Australia spreading the joy of music to young and old.”
“He documents the history of organs, networks with musicians, gives advice on operation and conservation of instruments, gives recitals and presents workshops to school-aged music students and those with a curiosity about the organ.”
“Anthony hopes that for those attending his Murrumburrah recital, “you will all leave with full hearts and smiling faces.”
Following the recital, there will be an afternoon tea where Anthony is keen to talk with locals.
