Young Camera Club is looking forward to holding its 24th Cherry Festival Photographic Competition and Exhibition. There is a change of venue this year, with the exhibition being held at the Young Services Club.

Entry forms are now out and people are encouraged to get their entries in.

There are 12 categories to choose from, including portrait, macro or closeup, birds, animals, architecture/design, landscape/waterscape, local entry and any other subject.

Junior entries are encouraged with Under 13yrs and Under 18yrs categories.

Prizes are awarded and there are trophies for the Champion Print and Junior Champion Junior Print.

This year we are also introducing a very special trophy, the John van Rijswijk Memorial Encouragement Trophy, to be awarded to a junior entrant.

Visitors are encouraged to choose their favourite photo and a People’s Choice Award is given.

Entries close on the 21st of October.

Entry forms can be picked up from the Young Visitor Centre or the Young Library.

The opening night will then be held Sunday, 27th November, at the Young Services Club.

The Young Camera Club encourages fun, friendship and learning. We welcome all entries and look forward to seeing your photographs.

Our next meeting will be on the 12th of October, where Corrie will share his recent photos from a trip to SA, NT, Outback QLD and Outback NSW. All are welcome.
