The second round of Group E Pennants games were played on Sunday. Games were played in the afternoon as the temperatures were quite a bit lower than last weekend.
The Grade 4 side travelled to Tumut – for the only game outside our usual area.
The side had a very good 72–49 win to score 9 of the possible 10 points and all three teams performed well.
For the individual games (skips names only) David Quigley defeated Adam Peel 26–18, Damien Miller defeated Geoff Webb 27–10 and Peter Watts lost to Tim Crampton 19–21.
The results for the other two sides were not as good but both were playing against very strong opponents.
In Grade 5 at Boorowa Ex–Services Club the home side proved too strong and won overall 62–45.
Denis Rosen lost 19–21 to Kevin Anderson, Glen Benson defeated Chris Grimson 18–16 and Joe Bargwanna lost to Shane Foote 8–25.
The Grade 6 side were playing at home against Boorowa Ex–Services and lost 46–63.
In the individual games Kate Cooper had a 16–all draw against Glen Klose, Martin Betcher lost 11–26 to Colin Good and Vic Brown lost 19–21 to Bill Luxford.
The third round of Pennants will be played on Sunday. All players who are selected to play will be contacted once the teams have been finalised.
The Grade 4 side will play at Cootamundra Ex–Services, Grade 5 are at home to Harden and the Grade 6 side will also be at Cootamundra Ex–Services with a 10 am start time.
Men’s Jackpot bowls was played on Thursday and Saturday afternoons. There were 18 players involved on Thursday and the triples team of Aldo Malvicino, Austin Crampton and Russell Boyd took away the vouchers with the very big margin of 25 shots.
The winners and their margins for the other games were Les Fanning and Albert Carter (15 shots), Michael Webb and Cliff Traynor (14 shots) and Milan Brankovic and Vic Brown (4 shots).
There were 14 players on the green on Saturday afternoon. There was a big winning margin of 18 shots for the triples team of Austin Crampton, Albert Carter and Ian Schofield.
In the other games Chris Wright and Cliff Traynor had a 5 shot margin and Martin Betcher and Brian Madden won their game by 1 shot.
The second week of the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge started on Wednesday night with TGs the winning team on the night.
There were 12 teams playing on Thursday night and Volleys 1 were the winners with 15 points.
Players are advised that details concerning the Club Triples Championships for 2022–23 are on the notice board.
Entries for this event close on Thursday 16th March and the first games will be scheduled for Saturday 18th March.
