Thursday afternoon saw eight men playing in quite pleasant conditions. Two games of Pairs were completed with one being a close contest.

Max Penfold and Joe Bargwanna scored 3 shots on the final end of their game to win 15–14.

Col Chapman and Tom Preston had a much bigger margin when they won their game 23–8.

Also, during the week Damien Miller participated in the NSW Bowling Greenkeepers Championships played at South Tamworth.

Congratulations are due to Damien and Wade Turner (Queanbeyan RSL Memorial Bowling Club) on winning the Pairs Championship.

After being well behind in the early stages of the final they won six consecutive ends to be only one shot behind after 19 ends. The final score was 22–21 in their favour.

This Sunday will see the resumption of the Inter–Club competition after a break on Sunday for Mother’s Day.

Both sides from Young will be playing at home. The Group 1 side will be opposed to Boorowa Ex–Services and the Group 2/3 side will play Cootamundra Ex–Services.

The Zone 8 Executive has decided that there will be a Men’s Single Gender Pennants competition to be played over July, August and September. Players will be advised of details soon.
