On Sunday morning, David Ward (substitute) and David Quigley played in the Zone 8 Champion of Club Champions Pairs at Temora. They defeated Jorden Dennis and Zac Cottam from Batlow by three shots to progress to the final against Bruce and Trevor Firman of Temora on Sunday afternoon.
After the regulation 21 ends of the final, the scores were 20–all and Bruce and Trevor scored a shot on the extra end to take out the title. Well done to David and David on their play.
At home during the week, Thursday’s games were played in very warm conditions. In a semi-final of the Minor Singles, Michael Webb played Stephen Walsh. After the scores were fairly close, Michael won six consecutive ends to move from 20–14 to a winning score of 31–14.
In other Thursday games, twenty four players were on the greens. The winning margins ranged from 5 shots to 17 shots and the vouchers for the highest margin went to Brian Christie and Stewart Taylor.
The cold wind and intermittent rain kept nominations for Saturday afternoon down to just four players. They enjoyed their game but no results are available. Sunday morning was a similar story with just six players taking part.
Special thanks to Terry Holmes, Ian Gailey and Aldo Malvicino for their constant work over the last two weeks to install the new shades for Green 2, great work and much appreciated.
