The Pennant games for the Young Bowling Club had mixed results on Sunday. The Grade 4 team lost the 3 rinks to Cootamundra Country Club at Young. The Grade 5 side won their 3 rinks against Boorowa Recreation Club at Young. The Grade 6 side drew with Cootamundra Ex-Services Club at Cootamundra with the Grade 3 side having a bye.
Last Saturday at the Young Club, the final of the South West District Mixed Championships was completed. 16 teams competed from throughout the district. The final was won by the Young pairing of Margo Parker and Damien Miller who defeated Catherine and Martin Bletcher from Grenfell.
Charity bowls results from last Tuesday and Thursday nights Guy Pickering Challenge: Tuesday night the winning team were “Friday’s” on a countback winning 12 to 6, Thursday night the “Fatbots” team continued on their winning way with a margin of 15.
Thursday afternoon Jackpot Bowls had 22 players. The winning team being Terry Holmes and Stewart Taylor by 11 shots. Last Saturday two games of Championship Singles were played. Russell Boyd defeated Brian Madden and Kade McKenzie defeated Colin Parker.
The Patterson Bros sponsored Jackpot Bowls winners for the vouchers were Michael Webb, David Donges and Dennis Rosen, a 4 shot margin.
A full week of bowls at the Young Bowling Club this week. Charity bowls on Tuesday and Thursday nights and Jackpot bowls on Thursday and Saturday afternoons at 1pm. Pennant games on Sunday afternoon commencing at 1pm, check the notice board for full details.
