The fine weather during the past week has been good for bowls, although the gusty wind on Thursday made play more difficult than usual.

There were 20 players on the green on Thursday and Michael Webb was in the overall winning team again when he and Cliff Traynor recorded a win by 19 shots. Other teams to win their games and their margins were Milan Brankovic and Colin Powell (11 shots), Margo Parker substituting for an ill player and Terry Holmes (5 shots), Garry Fish and Joe Bargwanna (4 shots), Damien Miller and Colin Stokell (2 shots) and Kevin Bryant and Les Fanning (1 shot after playing an extra end).

Saturday afternoon saw 32 players involved including two players from Bribbaree. The conditions were quite warm and there was very little wind.

The vouchers for the afternoon went to the combination of Albert Carter and Terry Mulligan with a winning margin of 14 shots.

Colin Chapman and Geoff DeBritt won their game by 10 shots, Milan Brankovic and Graeme Edgerton won by 9 shots as did Phil Taylor and Jonno Watson. Michael Webb and Colin Powell had a margin of 8 shots, Col Petherbridge and Denis Rosen had a margin of 7 shots, James Freudenstein and Russell Boyd won by 3 shots and Darryle Miller and Ian Gailey won by 2 shots.

The draw for the Club Triples Championship together with the games scheduled for this weekend are on the notice board.

Players are reminded that entries for the Club Fours close on Saturday 19th September.

An updated program for District and Zone events is on the board.

The first event to be played will be the District Mixed Pairs that has been re–scheduled for Saturday 10th October.

Updated draws for the Zone 8 Championships in Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours are also on the board.
