The cold and damp conditions have kept player numbers down for all forms of bowls at the Young Club.

Last Thursday there were 16 players on the green in very cold conditions. As happens reasonably often, the majority of the games were close contests with just one stand-out result.

The four margins were 1, 3, 6 and 15 with Brian Christie and Ian Schofield claiming the vouchers with this decisive win.

The conditions on Saturday resulted in just 8 players venturing out to play. Brian Christie and Graeme Edgerton had a very convincing win in their game with a margin of 15 shots. This gave them the Patterson Bros Funerals sponsored vouchers for the day. The other game was a much closer contest with Albert Carter and Greg Woods winning by 2 shots.

There was no play on Sunday due to the very cold and wet conditions. The second preliminary round of the BPL Cup that was scheduled to take place on Sunday was cancelled earlier in the week due to insufficient entries.

Congratulations to Damien Miller, Tom Shapcott and David Quigley on their selection in the Zone 8 side to play against ACT on Saturday 10th August and Sunday 11th August at Wagga Rules Club.

A final reminder that entries for the Club Triples Championship close on Saturday 20th July.

Also, entries for the Minor Singles close on Saturday 27th July. The Club will be conducting an Open Three Bowl Pairs tournament on Friday 30th August. Entries for the event close on Friday 23rd August.

The previous two tournaments conducted with this format have been very successful so all members should consider supporting this event. All details are on display at the Club.
