A busy week and weekend of Bowls at the Young Bowling Club. The first results in for the Club Singles in the matches played so far:

More Singles matches to be played this week and possibly Saturday.

Last Sunday was the 3 team event sponsored by the Fishing Club and the Travelling Bowler. 14 teams of three took part, singles and pairs matches in the morning, a great BBQ lunch and the triples matches after lunch.

The winners a team from Cootamundra with 3 wins and 38 shots. Second the team of Trevor Howell, Russell Boyd and Graeme Edgerton 3 wins and 31 shots. Best score in the singles Gary Fish, Cliff Traynor and John Cooper best pairs and triples winners James and Stuart Freudenstein and David Ward and Col Stokell, Brian March and Albert Carter – a great day of bowls.

Last Thursday Jackpot bowls, 22 players and the winners for the afternoon a triples team of Aldo Malvicino, Michael Webb and Dennis Rosen with a 12 shot margin. Last Saturday’s Patterson Bros sponsored Jackpot bowls, 16 players and the winners with a 17 shot margin Colin Chapman and Stuart Taylor on a countback from Colin Stokell and Colin Powell also on 17 shots.

Next Sunday is the Inter-town clash with Cowra Bowling Club for a pre-Pennant trial match. Three teams from each Club, 72 bowlers in total, play commencing at 10am. Please check the noticeboard for all bowlers participating.

Next Saturday the District Triples matches will be played at the Young Bowling Club and Jackpot bowls commencing at 1pm.
