There was quite a deal of activity on the greens during the past week, with two finals completed over the weekend.

On Saturday in the District Champion of Club Champions Pairs final, Damien Miller and David Quigley played Greg Thurtell and Carl Sorgsepp from Boorowa Ex–Services. Damien and David scored a convincing win 23–10 to qualify for the Zone 8 finals to be played at Temora on 7th and 8th September.

The final of the Club Triples was played on Sunday with Damien Miller, Brian Madden and Dave Quigley opposed to Colin Powell, Les Fanning and Mark Anderson. There was a clear–cut result with Damien, Brian and David winning 32–11.

Three games of Minor Singles were played on Saturday. The results were Andrew Hutchison defeated Mark Brownlie 31–24, Brian Christie defeated Luke Smithers 31–20 and Scott Douglas defeated Milan Brankovic 31–23.

Further games in the Minor Singles were completed on Sunday with Mick Manning defeating Brian Christie 31–16, Peter Berry defeating Scott Douglas 31–28 and Michael Webb defeating Andrew Hutchison 31–28.

In Saturday’s Jackpot Bowls, there were 14 players involved and the vouchers sponsored by Patterson Bros Funerals were won by Alan Gall, Peter Slater and Denis Rosen with a 14 shot margin.

There was a very good attendance of 30 on Thursday afternoon and they played in very pleasant conditions.

Michael Webb and Les Fanning won their game by 17 shots to take out the vouchers.

Players for the Minor Singles will be contacted individually concerning further games in this event.

This is the final reminder for players to enter for the Open Three Bowl Pairs tournament by Friday 23rd August.
