The fine and sunny conditions last Thursday were a complete contrast to the previous couple of weeks and the bowlers involved enjoyed their afternoon.

There were 14 players participating in very good conditions.

The triples game saw Albert Carter, Milan Brankovic and George Somerville dominate the scoring over the final 9 ends of their game to record a 29–17 win.

The two games of Pairs were much closer contests with Steve Walsh and Harold Anderson winning their game 20–16 and Ian Gailey and Cliff Traynor winners by 20 shots to14.

There were eighteen players involved on Saturday afternoon.

Mark Brownlie and Colin Chapman won their game by 21 shots to claim the vouchers for the afternoon.

Other winning teams and their margins were Colin Stokell and Peter Watts (13 shots), Scott Douglas and Geoff Holt (5 shots), and Albert Carter, Brian Christie and Les Fanning (10 shots).

My information is that most of the players enjoyed a chat and refreshments in the newly renovated clubhouse.

All players are reminded to check the information on the notice board concerning the Open Three Bowl Pairs tournament to be held on Friday 3rd June.

There is also information concerning two rounds of the BPL Cup to be held on Sunday 10th July and Saturday 30th July and the Club Pairs Championship.

This week the team of Jono Watson, Russell Boyd, Damien Miller and David Quigley will represent Zone 8 in the State Finals of the Open Fours at Ettalong. Play commences on Friday and continues on Saturday and Sunday. We wish them well in this event.

The new facilities at the club were appreciated by everyone who attended on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The bistro will be open this week from Friday 27th May and it is anticipated that this will see good patronage for the incoming caterer.
