The Young Bowling Club will be conducting its Annual Men’s Cherry Festival Triples this week. This is 29th time the tournament has been held.

Play commenced at 9.30 am on Tuesday 26th and will conclude at lunch time on Thursday.

The club has already held the Women’s Triples and Mixed Pairs tournaments last week.

There was no Men’s bowls last Thursday afternoon due to the very hot weather conditions.

Jackpot bowls on Sunday afternoon attracted just ten players with quite a number of our male players having played on Friday and Saturday in the Mixed Pairs.

Peter Rentoule, Ted Loader and Ged Hardman had the best margin when they won their game by 18 shots.

The other winning team was Albert Carter and Bob Perrin with a margin of 10 shots.

Only six players were involved in Sunday morning bowls with T Lemon, Chris Wright and Andrew Hutchison the winners with a score of 12 points.

Last week’s play in the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge saw Fridays as the winners on Tuesday night with a score of 15 points.

The winners on Thursday night were FATBBOTS with a score of 16 points. Men’s Thursday afternoon bowls and play in the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge will continue as normal this week.
