Play at the Bowling Club on Thursday consisted of eight men players and a game in the Women’s Triples Championship.

Unfortunately the scorecards for the men’s games are not available. In the Women’s Triples Sonia Ingall, Kathryn Betcher and Kate Cooper scored a convincing win over Lisa Boyd, Ann Gardner and Judy Watson. On Saturday afternoon there were 42 men bowlers on the greens. There were 19 visiting players from the Corowa RSL Bowls Club and 23 players from Young. The visitors had breakfast at the Scales and Ales on Saturday morning followed by a bus tour of the town (thanks to George Somerville who was the local guide).

They returned to the Bowling Club for BBQ lunch – special thanks to Jenny Holt, Robyn Tierney, Sheila Traynor and Judy Watson for their catering.

The Corowa bowlers won the majority of the games played but it was the opportunity to host a visiting group that was much more important than the actual scores. Thanks to all the Young players who supported this event. After play was completed the players moved to the Services Club for presentations, drinks and a quiet chat.

Thanks also to the members of the Young Bowling Club Fishing Club who catered for breakfast on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.

On Sunday the Corowa bowlers played at Cootamundra Ex–Services on their way home.

This weekend will see the resumption of the District Inter-Club Bowls games. Players who are selected to play in the games against Harden and Cootamundra Country Club will be contacted individually.
