There were fine and sunny conditions for bowls on Thursday and there were 20 players involved.

Steve Walsh and Col Chapman won their game by 1 shot as did Michael Webb and Harold Anderson.

Aldo Malvicino and Tom Preston had a 4 shot win and Bob Ruhl and Peter Watts won their game by 3 shots.

The other game saw Albert Carter and Les Fanning take out the vouchers with a very big margin.

Saturday afternoon saw 16 players taking part in quite pleasant conditions.

There were two teams with a winning margin of 10 shots – Craig Phillis and Peter Watts and Brian Christie and Jono Watson.

After a count–back Brian and Jono won the vouchers.

In the other two games the winners were Michael Webb and Mark Brownlie with a margin of 3 shots and Matt Fyfe and Cliff Traynor with a margin of 2 shots.

During the week Damien Miller and David Quigley took part in the Men’s State Pairs Finals at Figtree Sports Club.

In their opening sectional game they were defeated 19–12 by Corey Wedlock and Gary Kelly from Warilla.

They lost their second game 21–15 to Steven Douglas and Michael Wilks from Merimbula and won their third game 22–21 against Adrian Samuelson and Paul Harrison from Wauchope.

Wedlock and Kelly won their other two sectional games by 21 shots and 16 shots to be the section winners.

They won their semi–final by 18 shots and defeated Beau Prideaux and Carl Healey from Cabramatta 26–24 in the final.

The draws for the sectional games in the Zone 8 Pairs are on display. Most of the games will be played on Sunday 6th August.

All players involved should check the draws.

Details for the 2023–24 Club Triples Championship are on the notice board with entries closing on Thursday 17th August.
