This week saw players on both Thursday and Saturday enjoy good conditions.
On Thursday, there were 22 players involved. Tony Ruhl and Peter Slater took out the vouchers for the afternoon when they won their game by 17 shots.
There were 20 players on Saturday afternoon and the vouchers that are sponsored by Patterson Bros Funerals went to Albert Carter and Tom Preston with a margin of 17 shots. Brian March and Peter Slater (13), Greg Woods and John Cooper (3), Garry Fish and Joe Bargwanna (14) and Scott Douglas and Les Fanning (7) were the other winning teams.
The margin of 3 shots was good for Greg and John as this gave them the $200 jackpot.
The BowlsNSW State Fours Championships started on Friday at Ettalong. Damien Miller, James Maloney, Tom Shapcott and Dave Quigley were representing Zone 8 in this event. They won two of their three sectional games as did a team from St John’s Park. With a higher margin, the St John’s Park team advanced to the semi–finals.
In the President’s Reserve division, Zone 8 was represented by a team from Cootamundra Ex–Services – Jason Jones, Wayne Ford, Geoff Manwaring and Terry Smith. Despite losing one of their sectional games, the Cootamundra team not only won their section but went on to win the Championship – a great effort.
