There were very good conditions for the semi–finals of the Club Triples Championship on Saturday afternoon.

There was an even start to the game that saw Steve Walsh, Denis Rosen and Glen Benson playing Albert Carter, Michael Webb and Les Fanning with Glen’s team leading 12–10 after 12 ends. From that point Glen’s team won the majority of the ends and they won the game 29–16.

In the other game Greg Woods, Ian Schofield and Joe Bargwanna were opposed to Glen Seward, Jono Watson (playing as a substitute) and Geoff Holt.

After losing the first end Geoff’s team completely dominated the scoring and ran out winners by 36 shots to 10. The final for this event is scheduled to be played on Saturday afternoon.

There were 8 other players on the green on Saturday with two games of pairs being played. Brian Christie and Darryle Miller proved too strong for George O’Neil and Col Chapman to win their game 29–17.

There was a similar margin in the other game when Chris Wright and Brian Madden led all the way to defeat Tom Preston and Cliff Traynor 23–13.

Play on Thursday afternoon saw 20 players on the green. Brian Gibson and Les Fanning won their game by 11 shots and Andrew Hutchison and Denis Rosen had an 8–shot margin.

Brian Christie and Glen Benson had a 6–shot margin in their game and Aldo Malvicino and Barry Watson finished with a margin of 4 shots.

The vouchers went to Steve Walsh and John Cooper with the big margin of 19 shots.
