The final of the Minor Pairs was played on Thursday afternoon with Steve Walsh and Joe Bargwanna playing Darryle Miller and Bill Maloney. This was a very close contest with the scores level on five occasions. Going into the final end, Darryle and Bill led 19–18. With the second-last bowl he played, Joe moved the jack to give he and Steve 3 shots and this was the result of the end with the final score 21–19 in their favour. Congratulations to Steve and Joe on their win.

There was also a game of Mixed Pairs completed on Thursday. Elsie and Geoff Hines played Margo Parker and Damien Miller. Margo and Damien gained an early lead of 11–0 and after 10 ends they led 14–7. They then won five consecutive ends to lead 25–7 and the final score was 26–11 in their favour.

There were twenty-four other players on the green on Thursday. The winners for the afternoon with the very big margin of 22 shots were Brian Christie and Les Fanning. Others to win their games were Geoff Connelly and Colin Powell (1), Stewart Taylor and Terry Mulligan (4), Milan Brankovic and Ted Loader (11), John Sheather and Cliff Traynor (12) and Alan Gall and Ian Schofield (18).

One interesting feature of the afternoon was to see a scoreboard with a score of 8–1 after just 2 ends had been completed. Ian Gailey and Brian March scored the maximum of 8 shots on the second end but ended up losing the game.

Play on Saturday saw 16 players involved in Jackpot bowls and one game of Mixed Pairs. In the Mixed Pairs, Judith and Terry Mulligan proved too strong for Ann Gardner and Scott Douglas winning their game 28–11.

The winning teams for the Jackpot games were Max Penfold and Ged Hardman (3 shot margin), Alan Gall and Harold Anderson (8), Garry Fish and Russell Boyd (10) and Albert Carter and Vic Brown (21). The vouchers sponsored by Patterson Bros Funerals went to Albert and Vic.

Tuesday night’s play in the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge saw TGs the winners with 15 points after a countback against Three Amigos.

On Thursday night, the 3G Mac Attack team were the winners with a score of 16 points.

The draw for the Club Fours Championship is on the notice board.
