The conditions for bowls during the past week were quite variable, warm and sunny one day and cold and windy on others.

The wind was a major factor in Friday’s tournament where 28 teams played three games of Three Bowl Pairs.

There were a number of local teams as well as players from Grenfell, Boorowa, Cootamundra, West Wyalong, Stockinbingal, Temora and Molong.

Runners up were Rosemary and Ray Walter from Grenfell with three wins and a margin of 26 shots and the winners with three wins and a margin of 33 shots were Kevin Medcalf and Mike Barber from Cootamundra.

Thanks to the sponsors Bunnamagoo Wines, Donges IGA and Young Bowling Asian Restaurant.

Two games of Minor Singles were played over the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon, Stephen Walsh opened up a big early lead against Brad Douglas and despite a fightback by Brad, the result was 31–19 in Stephen’s favour.

On Sunday afternoon, Mick Manning played Peter Berry. This game featured some very good bowls and close scores with both players enjoying the lead during the game. The final score was a win to Peter 31–27.

Fourteen players were involved in Jackpot Bowls on Saturday afternoon. Winning teams and their margins were Scott Douglas and Alan Gall (7), Stewart Taylor and Brian Madden (11) and Les Fanning, Greg Woods and Peter Slater (11).

Sixteen players were on the green on Thursday afternoon. The vouchers for the winning team went to Brian Christie and Harold Anderson.
