Two day Young Bowling Club Tournament a great success.
Last Saturday and Sunday June 1st and 2nd, the Two Bowl Triples Tournament had 54 bowlers competing for the prize money on offer.
18 teams from nearby clubs and visitors from Forbes, Canberra, Ulladulla, Yass and Wentworth Falls attended for the two day Tournament.
The winners and the only team with 6 games wins were Kevin Metcalf, David Harris and Mike Barber from Cootamundra Country Club.
Locals Damien Miller, Peter Watts and David Quigley were second with 5 wins and a 54 shot margin. Third place went to another local team, Wally Chater, Les Fanning and Cliff Traynor who also won 5 games and a margin of 43 shots.
Two other local teams, Dennis Rosen, Dave Ward and Mick Manning and Tom Preston, Joe Bargwanna and Michael Webb also collected prize money in 5th and 6th place.
Thanks to all who helped make the Tournament a success, bar staff, caterer, greenkeeper, umpires and scoreboard attendant. Thanks also to Cliff Traynor, the Tournament organizer and director.
A big night was had on Friday May 31st, the Ugg Boots and Beanies Night organized by David Coombes as part of the Stars of Young Dance for Cancer fundraising. Over 100 bowlers attended and despite the cold conditions, the players had a great night and really enjoyed the bowls and Club facilities.
Forthcoming events at the Young Bowling Club, Jackpot bowls Thursday June 6th, Jackpot bowls Saturday June 8th (mufti dress) and Sunday morning bowls June 9th.
