All three of Young’s Pennant sides recorded wins on Sunday. Grade 3 played the Cootamundra Ex–Services Grade 4 side at Young and won all three rinks for an overall score of 75 to 48.

In the individual games Brian Madden 25 defeated Mike Barber 17, Damien Miller 27 defeated Brad Lange 14 and David Quigley 23 defeated Jason Jones 17. In a very unusual occurrence David’s team scored the maximum 8 shots on one end.

The Grade 5 side played its first home game against Harden and won overall by 64 shots to 50.

Denis Rosen defeated Terry Ricketts 25–13, Cliff Traynor defeated Matt Peisley 25–15 and Glen Benson lost to Craig Phillis 14–22.

The Grade 7 side played the Grade 7 side from Cootamundra Ex–Services at Cootamundra and won 78–48.Tony Ruhl 32 defeated Ed Brown 10, Joe Bargwanna 27 defeated Rod Ball 18 and Colin Stokell 19 lost to Greg Fisher 20.

The home sides would like to thank Colin Chapman and Phil Anderson for their work with the barbecue for the players after the game.

Further games have been completed in the Club Singles. Last Wednesday Cliff Traynor played John Cooper. John had an early lead at 11–4 but after 14 ends the score was 12–all. After 28 ends Cliff led 21–20 and he won the final 3 ends to win the game 25–20.

Another three games were played on Saturday afternoon, and all had clear–cut margins. Russell Boyd defeated Cliff Traynor 25–13, Peter Watts defeated Harold Anderson 25–7 and George Somerville defeated Colin Stokell 25–8.

The semi–finals will be played on Saturday afternoon with Russell Boyd to play George Somerville and Peter Watts to play Damien Miller.

During the week Thursday’s play started at 10 am to avoid the predicted afternoon heat. Three games of pairs were played with the following winners – Aldo Malvicino and Ian Schofield by 3 shots, Albert Carter and Brian McNair by 5 shots and Michael Webb and Cliff Traynor by 11 shots.

With the Club Singles games and Pennants on Sunday there were just 8 players for social Jackpot bowls on Saturday.

Brian Christie and Albert Carter won their game by 12 shots to claim the vouchers and Allan Langford and Ian Schofield had a winning margin of 1 shot.

More than 70 players took part in the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge during the week. On Thursday 3G Mac Attack scored 16 points to be the overall winners for the night. The Lachlan Street team were the winners for Tuesday night.

Congratulations to Damien Miller on winning the final of the Cootamundra Ex–Services Maestro Singles last Friday night with a score of 25–9.

Also, well done to Steve Walsh who finished fourth in the Minor Division of this event.

Good luck to the club’s three Pennant sides for Sunday. Grade 3 are at home to Temora B&R, Grade 5 are at home to Boorowa Ex–Services and the Grade 7 side will be playing at Cootamundra against the Grade 6 side from Cootamundra Ex–Services.

Thanks to those players who assisted with the clean-up of the renovation work on Green 2 on Monday.
