Two more games of the Mixed Pairs Championship have been completed during the past week.

On Tuesday afternoon, Judith and Terry Mulligan played Margo Parker and Damien Miller. This was a closely contested game with the scores level at 7–all after 6 ends and 13–all after 14 ends. After 19 ends, Judith and Terry led 20–16 and with Margo and Damien scoring 3 shots on the final 2 ends, Judith and Terry won 20–19. On Monday this week, Sheila and Cliff Traynor scored a convincing win over Michel and Julie Alavoine.

Men’s bowls on Thursday afternoon saw twenty-two players on the green in quite warm conditions. Milan Brankovic and Ian Schofield took out the vouchers with a winning margin of 13 shots.

Saturday’s games were played in gusty and dusty conditions. Eighteen players took part and the winning teams were Joe Bargwanna and Colin Powell (12 shots), Albert Carter and Cliff Traynor (9 shots), Scott Douglas and Vic Brown (5 shots) and Milan Brankovic, Mark Anderson and Denis Rosen (5 shots).

The vouchers for the afternoon went to Joe and Colin. Further games in the Guy Pickering Charity Challenge were played during the week. On Tuesday night, three teams – NFI, TGs and Lachlan Street – all scored 15 points. After a countback, the winners for the night were Lachlan Street.

Play on Thursday night resulted in the Biker Boys being the winners with a score of 16 points. Two teams, Kingsvale and Hilltop Hoods, both finished with 14 points.

Friday afternoon saw more than twenty players from Hilltops Council on the greens as part of the annual Picnic Day.

There was also a social group who played bowls on Friday night after having dinner at the Club.

The first games in the Club Fours Championship will be played on Saturday afternoon.

Further games are scheduled to be played on Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon. All the details are on the noticeboard.

The forecast of storms at Wagga on both days of the weekend led to the Bing Wallder Shield competition consisting of five games over the two days to be cancelled on Thursday night.
