Big week of bowls at Young Bowling Club. Last Thursday 22 players for Jackpot bowls. The winners of the vouchers with a margin of 26, Brian Christie and Brian March. Jackpot bowls for the Patterson Bros sponsored vouchers. The winners, Greg Woods and Stuart Taylor with a margin of 10 shots.

Three games of Club Pairs were completed on Saturday as well, Colin Parker and Cliff Traynor defeated Peter Slater and Ian Schofield. Colin Chapman and Tom Preston defeated Peter Watts and Brian Madden. John Cooper and Dave Ward defeated Brian Christie and Terry Mulligan.

A quarter final game in the Club Singles was played on Wednesday. Damien Miller defeated George Somerville to advance to the semi-final. The semi-finals will feature Damien Miller play Russell Boyd and Harold Anderson will play James Maloney. These games to be played on a date to be advised.

President’s Day on Sunday last was a huge success. All District Clubs were represented, Quandialla, Stockinbingal, Bribbaree, Cootamundra Country Club, Cootamundra RSL, Binalong, Harden, Boorowa Country Club, Boorowa Ex-Services Club and a visit from Cowra Bowling Club. 72 bowlers played two 15 end games in the morning and afternoon. A great lunch from the new Chinese restaurant. The winning team was from Boorowa Ex-Services and 2nd was a team skippered by Colin Powell from Young.

Entries are now being received for the Two Bowl Triples Tournament to be held on Saturday and Sunday the 1st and 2nd of June. A very competitive tournament with prize money of $4020 available. Prizes from 1st to 6th place. Nominations are on the notice board.

Jackpot bowls on Thursday and Saturday this week. Names in by 12.30pm, play commences at 1pm.
