A new COVID check-in card provides a quicker, alternative digital check-in method if you don't have a smartphone to scan QR codes.

It’s part of a roll out of updates to the Service NSW check-in system.

The COVID-19 check-in card is a hard copy card with a secure, unique QR code that contains a customer’s registered contact details, including name and phone number.

Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said the new cards, which can be scanned at supermarkets and other essential retail businesses, are similar to the dine and discover vouchers.

“We want to make sure the COVID-Safe check-in as safe and as accessible as possible, which is why we’re introducing the COVID-19 check-in card,” Mrs Tuckerman said.

She said it’s a faster and safer way to check-in.

“While other check-in options must still be provided at all shops and venues, this is an extra – and easier – option to ensure that everyone in the community can be COVID-safe when visiting venues.”

“NSW’s QR Code check-in system takes the pressure off our contact tracers by allowing them to spend less time on administration and more time on case interviews with people that have tested positive to COVID-19.”

The Service NSW app is undergoing regular updates to make it even more user-friendly.

New features coming soon will include allowing users to review their check-out history and add check-out times, as well as making it easier to sign-in to the app while wearing a mask.

Your check-in information is directly available for NSW Health’s contact tracing team in the event of a positive COVID-19 case.

The new check-in cards are available via the Service NSW website or calling 13 77 88.
