The Rapid Relief Team (RRT) recently supported the Young Crisis Accommodation Centre (YCAC) during their event for Homelessness Week 2025.
Rapid Relief Team volunteers manned the barbecue, serving 250 meals to those attending the Homelessness Week event.
Multiple local service providers took part in the event, which raised awareness for homelessness in the community. Balloons and lollies were handed out, as well as having a free raffle take place.
“RRT has a heart for the homeless, and we are pleased to be able to support the important work being done by YCAC to look after those who are doing it tough and raise awareness of this challenging issue,” said RRT local team leader Jadon Ferguson.
“The theme for Homelessness Week 2025 is Homelessness Action Now, which aligns with RRT’s mission statement – compassion in action.”
Established in 2013 to assist emergency services in times of disaster and crisis by providing meals and other support, RRT has expanded to more than 16,000 volunteers and provides support to the community through charitable donations and events.
