Save The Date For Boorowa Central School’s 155 Year Celebration

The celebrations will take place over the weekend of September 20 and 21.
Boorowa Central School will celebrate 155 years of education this year, with events planned on the 20th and 21st of September.
After postponing their 150 year celebrations due to COVID and the ongoing restrictions, the 155 year celebrations will begin with an open school on September 20.
The open school will include a passport tour of the school showcasing the modern classrooms as well as heritage spaces.
There will also be a memorabilia display of Boorowa Central School through the decades.
Adding to the celebrations will be formal speeches, cake cutting, games for young and old, the unveiling of the commemoration wall and time capsules.
A BBQ lunch will be served and tea and coffee will be available.
The evening of September 20 will see a formal dinner at the Boorowa Ex-Services Club.
Guests will be able to commemorate the evening with a photo booth and there will also be a photo presentation, speeches and story sharing.
The celebrations will wrap up on Sunday with a BBQ brunch at the Recreation Oval from 9am until midday.
There are a variety of ways to get involved in the celebrations.
Bricks on the commemoration wall are available for purchase for $35 with the ability to add family details up to 48 characters.
The organising committee will be selling bricks outside IGA on Saturday the 26th of April and the 17th of May.
They will also be selling them at the school on election day.
The ability to purchase online will also be available.
Members of the organising committee are also collecting stories that will be collated into a book.
To share your story, email 155ofBCS@gmail.com or arrange a time to share it with a member of the committee.
Stories will be limited to 1 A4 sized page.
If you have photos or items from your time at BCS, such as old school uniforms, report cards, course work books etc, drop them into the school as part of the collection for the memorabilia display.
Further information about the celebrations and the details for RSVP still to come.
All ex-students and staff as well as current Boorowa Central School members are invited to attend the celebrations. If you have any questions, please email 155ofBCS@gmail.com
