It was great news when it was announced that the Boorowa Branch of Country Women’s Association (CWA) is back is business.
Twenty Boorowa women turned up to the Ex-Services and Citizen’s Club on the 14th of September to learn more about CWA and to sign up for membership.
The meeting was led by Geraldine Gore, the President of the CWA South West Group of which Boorowa Branch is a member.
Also in attendance was Margaret Clark (State Executive Committee Member), Carol Xuereb (Secretary) and Meagan McKenzie (Treasurer) of South West Group.
As a result of the meeting the following executive members of the Boorowa Branch were elected:
- President: Katey Collins
- Secretary: Karen Smith
- Treasurer: Jane Saillard
- Publicity Officer: Emma Jones
- Vice-Presidents: Rebecca Scroop and Belle Smith.
Katey, Karen and Jane have recently met to discuss arrangements for the first meeting of the Boorowa Branch CWA.
These arrangements will be announced to members via email as well as to the community by social media.
More members are always welcome, and there is a sense of renewed energy and direction in the Branch.
