As we re-enter coronavirus restrictions, it’s important to allow time and space for self-regulation to manage and nurture our mental and emotional well-being. Self-regulation is learning to understand and manage your emotions, reactions and behaviours to things happening outside of you.

1. Create space to check-in with yourself and reflect on emotions, mindset, and behaviours. You’ll be able to notice and shift your reactions and triggers, while creating strategies to assist.

2. Become aware of changes in your routine, moods or behaviour e.g. sleeping/eating habits, feeling withdrawn or sudden outbursts of anger or frustration.

3. Establish a go-to feel good strategy to assist in bringing balance back to your being, such as releasing built up emotion, fear, frustration or anxiety through music, movement, singing, creating or journaling. Reaching out to a professional therapist or healer. We cannot control what is happening outside of us however we can choose to create emotional regulation and peace within us.
